  1. I disagree. I honestly believe that number one must always be “Who are we taking with us?” then move on to the “Where are we going”. Time and time again I see the wrong people in the wrong positions cripple strategy. Labour laws make it difficult but not impossible to get rid of the dead wood, and the people that are just badly matched can always be shuffled sideways to find the right fit.

    To my mind people, their experience and capabilities and an understanding thereof are an essential pre-cursor to the above, not an afterthought
