Developing management:lessons from Haier

Fisher & Paykel has announced that Haier, the Chinese appliance maker, will take a 20% stake in the company. Predictably that has aroused a degree of comment.

I came across this blog post from Professor Don Sull on how Haier spends considerable effort in developing their management team and ensuring that management have a broad view rather than a silo based one.

It is possible that Haier will bring much more to this deal than people assume.
