Wolak Report:an update

James Weir writes in the Dominion Post today on the draft Wolak report.

PART of a long-awaited report into suspected abuse of market power by electricity firms suggests that they may be offering wholesale prices $10 to $20 a unit higher than usual, at peak times, when they can.

The draft report, dated March 13, by leading international power sector academic Frank Wolak of Stanford University, is part of a wider Commerce Commission study that has taken nearly four years, at a cost of $2 million.

The article is on Page C1 of today’s Dominion Post, but does not appear to be online as yet.
